Robotics challenge comes to Pigeon

PIGEON - Students will showcase STEM skills with custom-built robots at the Cross Lutheran State- Qualifying Tournament, Friday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. in Pigeon. Participating schools include Cross Lutheran, Laker, Bad Axe, Huron County Rural Schools, Ubly, Cass City, Our Lady of Lake Huron, Zion Lutheran, White Pine Middle School, Waterford and Jenison. The more than 100 elementary and middle school students and mentors will unite for the VEX IQ Challenge “Ringmaster” Tournament. Participants will use robots they designed, built and programmed. There is no charge for admission and spectators are welcome. Concessions will be available. The event is one in a series. The competition season culminates with the VEX Robotics World Championship each spring, awarding the title of World Champion. Details: RoboticsEducation.org, RobotEvents.com and VEXRobotics.com.
